Help Chocolingo's mission

Chocolingo is a free platform that helps Mongolian adults learn English — past the 2,000-word threshold where the language becomes genuinely usable for reading, work, and everyday life. It's built by one person. If you're confident in English and want to help, you can add real teaching content that learners will use.

What you can write

Two things are always needed:

• Practice questions — multiple-choice and word-order exercises for a grammar point.
• Grammar articles — short, clear explanations of one grammar point, with examples.

This is for people comfortable writing correct English. Content is written for Mongolian learners, so it's bilingual — the English is yours; the Mongolian translations and hints matter just as much (see the format below).

Format: a multiple-choice question

Each question is a sentence with one blank, one correct answer, and exactly seven wrong options — each with a one-line reason it's wrong. Plus a Mongolian translation, a hint, and a difficulty (1–3).

Sentence:        She ___ arrives at the office on time.
Correct answer:  always
Wrong options (each with a reason it is wrong):
  arrives always   — Frequency adverb goes before the verb, not after.
  is always        — No "is" — "arrives" is already the main verb.
  alwayses         — Adverbs never take -s.
  alwaysly         — Not a word.
  ever             — "Ever" isn't used in plain positive statements.
  arrives alwaysly — Wrong order and a non-word.
  is always arrives— Two verbs can't stack like this.
Translation (MN): Тэр цагтаа үргэлж оффист ирдэг.
Hint (MN):        arrives (verb) → frequency adverb before it
Difficulty:       1

Format: a word-order question

Give the words in their correct order, a Mongolian translation, and a one-line explanation of the order.

Correct order:   She / always / gets / up / early
Translation (MN): Тэр үргэлж эрт босдог.
Explanation (MN): Subject (She) + frequency adverb (always) + verb (gets up) + adverb (early).
Difficulty:       1

Format: a grammar article

An article covers one grammar point, broken into a few short sections. Each section has a heading and a handful of rules; each rule has a simple formula, a plain Mongolian explanation, and 3–5 example sentences — every example in both English and Mongolian.

Section: Adverbs of Frequency
  Rule:    Subject + adverb + verb
  Explain (MN): Давтамжийн дайвар үг нь энгийн үйл үгийн өмнө орно.
  Examples:
    I always drink coffee.  /  Би өглөө үргэлж кофе уудаг.
    She is rarely late.     /  Тэр хоцрох нь ховор.

The quality rules (please read these)

• Every wrong option must be genuinely wrong. The single most common mistake is a "wrong" option that is actually also correct. If two answers fit the sentence, the question is broken.
• Give exactly seven wrong options for a multiple-choice question — no more, no fewer, and none repeated.
• Mongolian must be accurate. Translations and hints are read by beginners; a wrong translation teaches the wrong thing.
• Write for Mongolian learners. The best questions target the errors Mongolian speakers actually make — missing "a/the", swapped prepositions, word order.
• Keep it to words a learner already knows where you can — the point is the grammar, not rare vocabulary.

How to send it

Write it in a Word or Google doc — following the formats above — and email it to bukhbilegt@gmail.com. Aim for a full set on one grammar point (for example, 20–30 questions) rather than a single question, so it's ready to add as a unit.

Everything is reviewed before it goes live, and may be edited for accuracy and consistency — so don't worry about getting every detail perfect. It's volunteer work: not everything can be published, but real contributions are genuinely valued and credited. Thank you for helping Mongolian learners.
